Nettle, cucumber and pineapple juice.

Please don’t be put off by the main ingredient in this juice. I promise if you don’t already you will LOVE nettles after this! Nettles are free too. They are in season March – May.

Pick the top 7 leaves and don’t pick from a flowered plant.  Obviously when you pick them they will sting you if you don’t wear gloves. If you get stung whilst picking nettles don’t worry it won’t do any harm, in fact years ago the elderly were stung regularly to improve blood flow. The juice won’t sting you when you drink it.  Nettles are amazing for so very many things, if ever a food deserved the superfood badge nettles would be at the top of my list! They help calm the skin and improve conditions like eczema and acne.  High in essential vitamins and minerals.  Nettles can be used much like spinach is. Cucumber is a great diuretic and removes rubbish from the body, full of electrolytes that are great for brain function. It is calming for the skin and very pleasant tasting. I’ve used pineapples in this recipe to bring some sweetness. Pineapples are a diuretic, full of vitamins that boost skin health.

Use pineapple with caution if pregnant .

1 Cup of washed stems removed nettles 1 Pineapple 1 Cucumber

Juice and enjoy

  1. This sounds delicious! Do you need to prepare the nettle in any way before you add it to the smoothie or do you just put it in as is? I drink nettle tea all the time so this juice is really appealing to me. Thanks for sharing 🙂 x
